SEPARATING EFFORTS TO REDUCE TRIF AND PREVENT FATALITIES
The corporate focus for many years has been on building safety systems that result in reduced total recordable injury frequency (TRIF). This focus on TRIF is in part driven by the desire to reduce the WCB claims rate. In spite of this focus, the workplace fatality rate in Canada remains a constant.

Approximately 1,000 workplace fatalities are recorded each year, averaging nearly five deaths per working day. Our efforts are not helping to reduce the fatality rate.
In this webinar we will explore what is required for reducing the TRIF and what different effort is required to reduce serious injury and fatality (SIF). A different effort is needed for each and if employers are able to achieve a reduction in both TRIF and SIF, a new approach is required.
