learning Objectives

While the controversies around cannabis use remain, what doesn’t is any uncertainty about it’s legalization in Canada. The 2018 change in legislation that legalizes the recreational use of cannabis has shed new light on impairment in the workplace. Because impairment presents such an overarching danger in the workplace, it’s important to know how to combat and control it effectively, especially when new impairing drugs become legal for recreational use.

Packed with industry insight, best practices, and an array of applicable information, this SafetyVantage awareness course is a robust educational primer for understanding marijuana and the concerns it brings to the workplace.

The learning objectives of this course are to:

  • Introduction to recreational marijuana and the workplace
  • Understanding marijuana impairment
  • Controlling impairment hazards
  • Workplace rights, roles, and responsibilities
  • Impairment testing
  • Includes reference to Federal and Provincial legislation
