learning Objectives
After this course, you will be able to:
- Explain WHMIS purpose and legal roles of suppliers, employers, and workers.
- Differentiate WHMIS education vs. workplace-specific training and understand competency requirements.
- Classify hazardous products by physical and health hazard classes.
- Interpret supplier and workplace labels and all required information.
- Recognize and interpret WHMIS pictograms.
- Locate and explain key details in the 16 sections of a Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Completion:
Refresher training is required when conditions change, new products are introduced or when new hazard information becomes available. Employers must review their programs annually and it is a good practice to conduct employee refresher training every 1-3 years.
Course Online:
To successfully complete the course, learners have 3 attempts to achieve 80% or higher on the exam. Upon completion the learner receives a Certificate of Achievement.
