Workplace Violence and Harassment Awareness
According to Statistics Canada, there are hundreds of thousands of cases of workplace violence each year.
Most employees think that they are excluded from these statistics, however many have been subject to threats, pushes, had something thrown at them, or been ridiculed or humiliated at work. Recognizing violence is the first step towards preventing it. Workplace violence is the threatened, attempted, or actual conduct of a person that causes or is likely to cause an incident, including any threatening statement or behaviour that gives an employee reasonable cause to believe that they’re at risk of an incident.
No workplace is immune to workplace violence. From small companies to large, it’s a dangerous hazard that needs to be taken into account. This Workplace Violence and Harassment Awareness course is designed to help employees and workers recognize workplace violence, prevent it, and respond to it effectively.
